甘草别名: 美草、蜜草。
甘草药材是豆科植物甘草、胀果甘草或光果甘草的干燥根及根茎。甘草片为棕色片或棕褐色片，有特臭，味甜。
性味归经:
甘，平（生用性凉，炙用微温）；归肺，脾经。
功效特点:
有补脾益气，清热解毒，祛痰止咳，缓急止痛，调和诸药的功效。
用于脾胃虚弱，倦怠乏力，心悸气短，咳嗽痰多，脘腹、四肢挛急疼痛，痈肿疮毒，缓解药物毒性、烈性。
古籍记载:
《神农本草经》谓甘草“主五脏六腑寒热邪气，坚筋骨，长肌肉、倍力、金疮肿，解毒。”
常规用量:
1.5～9g。
注意事项:
本品用于清热解毒须生用，用于补中缓急宜炙用，湿盛中满、恶心呕吐者不宜用，不宜与大戟、芫花、甘遂、海藻同用，与常山同用易引起
呕吐，婴幼儿慎用! 请遵医嘱。
