Epimedium Brevicornum Maxim
Epimedium Brevicornum Maxim (Yin Yang Huo 淫羊藿) is derived from the stems and leaves of Epimedium plants. The dried leaves are yellowish to grayish green with a light herbal aroma and bitter taste.
Nature & Flavor:
Pungent, sweet, and warm. Associated with the Liver and Kidney meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Traditional Uses:
Traditionally associated with nourishing the Kidney and dispelling wind-dampness. Commonly used for weakness of the lower back and knees, limb numbness, and discomfort associated with wind-dampness.
Preparation:
Decoction: 3–9 g.
Important Notes:
Not recommended for those with Yin deficiency and excessive internal heat according to Traditional Chinese Medicine principles.
