Tsaoko Amomum Fruit Powder, also known as Cao Guo Fen (草果粉), is made from the dried mature fruit of the tsaoko plant, a member of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). Native to the mountainous regions of Yunnan, Guangxi, and Guizhou in China, tsaoko is prized for its bold aroma and distinctive warm, spicy flavor.

Nature & Flavor: Warm & Pungent

Recommended Usage
Stews and braised dishes: 1–3g per 1kg (2.2 lb) of ingredients
Master stock (lu shui): 3–8g per 5kg of broth
Hot pot soup base: 2–5g per pot
Spice blends: No more than 8% of the total spice mixture to avoid bitterness

Important Notes:
Because Tsaoko has a bold, concentrated flavor, start with a small amount and adjust to taste to avoid overpowering other ingredients.
According to Traditional Chinese Herbal principles, individuals with yin deficiency or excessive internal heat should use with caution.
